In case you want a small yet powerful mod, maybe the JAC Vapour can help you with their brand new DNA 75W mod. It is already known that JAC Vapour has released previous editions of the DNA 75W, so the Sandstorm is their recent one. Considering this aspect, I`m optimistic already as this means that a new version of a product can bring good improvements to it.
With a power of 75W, the DNA 75W mod needs just one 18650 cell in order to work. But whether this is one of the best single cell mods on the market or not, you will find out at the end of this outstanding review.
The kit includes one Series-B DNA 75 25mm, one micro USB cable and one user manual.
This mod features the Evolv`s chip that will be able to ensure one of the best performances available. You can customize this mod using the EScribe software.
The Sandstorm has an elegant and compact shell. JAC mission was achieved, creating a pocketable mod that stands out.
Very accurate temperature control mode. Evolv’s chips are known for their instant power output, customization and precision.
JAC Vapour Series-B DNA 75W mod review
From the very beginning, let me tell you that the Sandstorm mod looks nice and elegant. It is actually a blend between a pen style mod and a box style mod. The body feels robust. The mod shell is made of zinc alloy with Sandstorm plating which to me it looks like a very faded gold. Overall the mod looks pretty good. The mod feels comfortable in hand and it is very ergonomic.
The power button is made of rubber and polycarbonate and it has a rectangular shape with rounded corners.
Right below the fire button, there is the screen that is pretty bright. Important information such as temperature, mode, voltage or the battery life are present. The mod features Temperature Control and also the Wattage modes, features that will help in customizing the vaping experience.
Near de screen, there are the up and down buttons that will help you scroll through the menu or to regulate the wattage. The buttons are somehow connected in one button which is pretty uncomfortable as anyone with bulky fingers can wrongfully press the unwanted command.
To go into stealth mode: lock the device with five clicks on the fire button then keep pressing the fire button and the minus button. On the screen, you will see the mode changing from “Normal Mode” to “Stealth Mode”.
To go into materials: lock the device with five clicks on the fire button, then hold the fire button and the plus and minus button for 3 seconds. On the screen, you will see the available materials that you can upload in EScribe software.
Below the up and down buttons, there is the micro USB port that will serve for charging the battery. The mod is also firmware upgradeable and you just need to connect it to your computer in order to easily download and install the wanted settings. Do not forget that if you want to upgrade your mod you will need the Escribe software installed on your computer.
A big plus for this mod is the support for passthrough, which means that you can use the device while charging it. But, of course, there is also the possibility to just charge externally the cell by the help of an external charger (i recommend you that).
The mod needs an 18650 cell in order to work so make sure you will purchase one if you don`t already have it. Also, in case you want to purchase the mod online, the JAC Vapour offers the possibility to add the 18650 cell to your cart.
The single cell aspect is quite questionable as in a market where you can find mods that include even three or four batteries, for sure you wonder how much will a single battery last. In my case, using a Sony VTC6(3000mAh capacity) at 16W-17W it lasts for 8-10 hours used very often.
Using it with sub-ohm atomizers at 60W-70W will discharge the battery in 1-2h(heavy use) or 5-8 hours (light use). I recommend using this mod with MTL(mouth to lung) atomizers (like RTA Kayfun Prime, my favorite on this mod) for a long vaping experience.
The battery cover that houses the single 18650 cell is magnetic so it will be pretty easy to place it back when taking the cell out or placing it in. The magnets feel quite strong so there will be no problems with the cover to open unexpectedly. The cover also has fingernail groove which means it will be easy to open it whenever you want.
On the top of the JAC Vapour Series-B DNA 75W, there is the 510 spring connector(gold plated) that is capable to support atomizers up to 25mm without overhanging.
Of course, the safety features are numerous(as all the DNA chips provide) and overall they do their job properly. Therefore the Sandstorm has overcharge protection, low voltage one, reverse polarity protection, short circuit protection and battery venting for avoiding overheating.
The maximum power of this mod is of 75W and the voltage varies between 0.2V and 6.2V. A nice aspect is that the mod doesn`t include a limit for resistance(on non-temperature control mode), so you can go as low as you want to vape.
Overall the mod works pretty well. The fire button is very clicky which means you barely have to touch it in order for it to respond. This might be a little bit of a problem when you carry the mod in your pocket, so make sure you press five times on the fire button in order to lock the mod when you carry it in pockets or bags.
Everything works nice and smooth and the flavor is rich. The mod activates in an instance (as we are used to with all DNA devices).
So, the Sandstorm mod is a blast for either beginners or pros. That is because the device offers the possibility to personalize the vaping experience with EScribe software. Everything works really well fact that makes the Sandstorm into a highly recommendable mod for anyone. If you think that the JAC Vapour offers also a 6-month warranty, for sure you can trust in purchasing the Sandstorm mod.
