It seems like beginner-friendly mods are quite on trend these days. But what if there was the possibility to choose a mod that is proper for beginners but also for pros? Without any introduction here is the review of Aspire Zelos 50W kit, featuring the well known Aspire Nautilus 2 MTL atomizer.
There are three main color options you can choose from: black, grey and red. All three versions have silver touches.
The kit contents are one Nautilus 2 tank that has preinstalled the new 0.7ohm coil, one extra drip tip, one extra glass tube, one micro USB cable, one Zelos 50W mod, one 1.8 ohm BVC coil and 8 o rings.
The new Nautilus 2 coil
This kit features the latest Aspire Nautilus coils. The 0.7ohm one is preinstalled but there is also a 1.8ohm coil that is included in the kit. Great flavor from the new 0.7ohm coils!
Nautilus 2 refilling
The e-juice refilling mechanism of the Nautilus 2 is very easy to use. Just unscrew the cap and add the wanted e-liquid.
Zelos 50W various modes
The Zelos mod is a powerful device featuring VV, Bypass, VW and TC modes. Giving you the possibility to enjoy many types of experiences.
Automatic display adjustment
This mod comes with a screen auto-rotate feature. Very useful for some persons and annoying for others.
Aspire Zelos 50W kit review
At a very first glance of this mod, it is clear that the mod and the tank look pretty robust and it seems like the Aspire took more attention to details this time. The mod has a rectangular shape with nice rounded edges. It is made of zinc alloy, a fact that provides many advantages such as the anti-scratches feature while being also lightweight.
When it comes about portability, this mod provides good results, but not exceptional, in the sense that for sure there are smaller sized mods on the market. The Zelos 50W can be categorized as an average size mod. This means it is not that pocketable. On the very top, the mod has a spring loaded 510 connector.
On one side you will see the round shaped fire button. Bellow the fire button there is the 0.69 inch OLED screen. The screen has an auto rotate option and it automatically flips depending on the way you keep the mod in your hand. Now, this option is pretty questionable as some people like me will find it annoying while others will find it alright. This aspect is similar to the auto-rotation option for smartphones that are pretty sensitive and just a little tilt of the screen will change its position.
Still, the OLED screen makes it possible for you to read the precious information available such as the battery life, the power, the mode or the resistance.
Below the screen there are the up and down buttons that are perfect for completing the wanted settings for the mod to work according to your needs. The micro USB port is also located on the same side as all the other buttons available. This mod is also firmware upgradeable and this is a fantastic feature for the ones who love keeping the mod up to date.
This mod has very easy combinations of keys that will lead you to the wanted settings without problems. For instance, you just have to press the up and down buttons at the same time in order to access the menu and choose the wanted mode. You can scroll after that with the up and down buttons through the TC mode with the Stainless Steel, Titanium or Nickel. There are also the Bypass, Voltage or Watt modes available.
The up and the fire button pressed simultaneously will lock or unlock the mod. The minus and the fire button pressed at the same time will make it possible to scroll through the wattage settings when is it TC mode.
The Nautilus 2 tank is a very nice addition to this mod. Probably the best feature of this tank is that it is very easy to fill it up with e-liquid. You just have to unscrew the top of the tank and simply pour the wanted juice. The capacity of the tank is of 2.0 ml which is an acceptable size.
The mod is capable to start with 1W and go up to 50W. For some people, the 50W usually is not enough, but you need to just try this mod before you underestimate it. Moreover, beginners will consider the 50W enough to have a smooth and nice vaping experience. The resistance ranges between 0.1 ohms and 3.5 ohms when using the bypass or the variable wattage modes. When using the TC mode, the resistance can range from 0.05 ohm to 1.5 ohms.
There are two types of coils available in the kit. I recommend using the 0.7ohm coil for a rich and cloudy experience.
The Zelos 50W has a 2500 mAh battery integrated. With this cell, the mod will have enough power to work a whole day without problems. The downside is that you will have to charge the device as the replacement of the battery is not possible.
When it comes about flavor, the Zelos 50W kit is one of the best mod available. In fact, the mod works perfectly fine paired with the Nautilus 2 tank. I would say that this is a kit that is more for mouth to lung vaping.
All in one, this mod should not be avoided, only in case you are looking for something more powerful or smaller in size than this one. Otherwise, the Zelos 50W kit is suitable for both beginners and pros.
