With the introduction of the electronic cigarette on the market, many smokers have passed to it, using it in an excessive way in order to get away from the traditional cigarettes toxins that do so much harm to our body.
Over time the vape community has highlighted some problems due to the intense use of electronic cigarettes. One of the problems is known as the vaper’s tongue.
Why is the Vaper’s Tongue Happening?
The problem of the vaper’s tongue is due to the closure of olfactory receptors, which allow to taste and smell various flavors, that also are found in the e-liquid of your electronic cigarette. In fact, the disadvantage affects the nose and not the tongue, it is the smell that allows you “to feel” the taste of the various flavors, as is the smell that allows you to feel and taste of the foods you eat.
The vaper’s tongue can be produced by several reasons, medical studies show that this inconvenience can be produced by many causes (such as dehydration, drug intake or closed nose) and it is unlikely to be due to the use of the electronic cigarette itself, unless the vaper uses the same liquid for several months, with the same percentage of flavor inside.
In this last case, the olfactory receptors get used to the flavor found in the e-liquid and do not allow any more to feel the flavor as it was the beginning.
What Can I Do to Get Rid of Vaper’s Tongue?
Don’t worry, the vape communities have developed and tested solutions to help you get back your olfactory receptors in shape, in fact, this is a rather small problem, at least compared to the issues related to the use of traditional cigarettes.
The best and fast way to get rid of the vaper’s tongue is to change the e-liquid you are using. Try another flavor or a mix of flavors.
Another remedy is to drink plenty of water, the water hydrates the respiratory cavities, and counteracts the dryness of the taste buds, amplifying all the flavors you feel.
Some users who have experienced the problem point out that even the simple chewing of a slice of lemon can reduce the effect of the vaper’s tongue, you can also use coffee. These remedies do not have a medical-scientific explanation, but some scientists agree that both lemon and coffee would act as a kind of natural reset of the olfactory receptors.
