One of the major problems many vapers have is the one of tank leaking. This problem can be even more annoying when you keep your mod in the pocket, backpack or purse as the whole juice can spread through your stuff. But from now you can say no to tank leaking as today we will discuss this problem and how to prevent it to happen.
1. Fill your tank properly
One of the biggest causes of the leaking tank is the fact that many people do not fill it the way they should. But there are some important aspects you need to pay attention to the filling process to be properly done. For instance, make sure to tilt the tank a little before you pour the liquid. Exactly as if you want to pour beer into a glass. Respect the e-liquid limit specificated by the producer (in most of the case the limit is written on the plexiglass tube or even on the coil itself). Avoid any juice to get into the central air tube. In case this thing happens, you can clear the excess with a paper or some tissues. Do not overfill the tank as it obviously may lead to unwanted leaking.
2. Tight the tank parts properly
There are many situations when the tank is leaking just because the owner did not screw well the different parts of the tank. Always make sure that all the parts are well attached to each other. Remember to not over tighten the tank parts. Over tighten the parts can damage the silicone o-rings.
3. Take care of the O seals
O seals/ O rings are rubber rings that are specially made to prevent tank leaking. Situated mostly between 2 atomizer parts, like glass, tank base or coil. Over tightening them can damage the rings over time. In the pack of your atomizer you can found(but not always) a set of new replaceable o rings. If they are not included you should look online after them as they are not expensive. Make sure to purchase the correct size according to the type of your tank for a perfect seal and no leaking.
4. Keep your tank as vertical as you can
Even though it may sound simple, by keeping your tank in a vertical position, you will also stay away from unwanted leaking. Make sure you don’t remain without e-liquid in your atom. Be sure to always have e-liquid to cover the coil e-liquid holes.
5. Always check for cracks
It is quite known that glass is easy to crack. Whether you drop the mod or you press the top cap of the atom by mistake. There are even situations when the crack is so small that is hardly noticed. Just check carefully the glass, try to see if a magnifying glass a can help you more. The high temperature of the tank can also damage the glass. Temperature shocks can happen if you refill your hot used atom with cold e-liquid, resulting in small cracks over time.
6. Clean your tank often
Old e-liquid can remain inside your atomizer base close to the air holes. The most simple way you can clean your tank is to detach all the parts and wash it with clean water. You can let the tank parts dry throughout the night and use it in the morning or use a microfiber material or a paper towel to dry them faster. Remember to repeat the cleaning process every time the coil gets replaced.
7. Use the right juice type
Be sure to use the right e-liquid for your atomizer. On the market can be found liquids containing a different variation of PG and VG. making the liquid more or less dense. A higher concentration of VG will result in an e-liquid with higher viscosity. If you are using an MTL tank, we recommend using liquids made of 50% VG and 50% PG. On the other hand, if you are using LI tank, the right e-liquid for you will need to have at least 70% VG and 30% PG in composition.
8. Close the air holes when refill
The pressure inside the tank is differing from the outside. To keep the same pressure effect you need to close the top or bottom holes of the tank when refilling it. Be sure to secure the top cap after refilling as if is not close well, it will lead to e-liquid leaking.
9. The coil cotton is burned
While using the tank, the coil inside is suffering some damage. Over time the cotton inside the coil will be damaged by the high temperature of the coil wire, resulting in burns inside the cotton. If this happens, the tank will leak. The cotton will not maintain the e-liquid inside it as before. The solution here is to replace the coil. If you are using an RBA tank base you should rebuild your coil or only change the cotton.
All in all, these are some important tips you can follow when you deal with tank leaking problems. Of course, you have to make sure that you purchase your atomizer from a reputable company that is quite known for its strong build. Low-quality tanks have bigger chances to crack up faster, mostly because the tank glass is not make out of plexiglass but instead they use cheap materials like plastic. Always keep yourself informed and dare to invest in a high-quality atomizer.
